7.24.04: In one week, we will move to our new home in the mountains. (I'm glad to hear the carved-heart shutters sold Anne immediately).

Not far from town, the melting snowcaps pump fresh run-off like blood into the subterranean ventricle-roots of the wildflowers, and the land plays tricks on you by redefining your conception of size, proportion and perspective. As my tenth grade English teacher, Mrs. Andrews, so fondly puts it when remembering her native home, South Carolina: "'Tis simply God's country".
